The Centre for Peace Praxis, in collaboration with The Media Triangle, organized an engaging two-day workshop titled Truth Seekers, aimed at addressing the pervasive issue of fake news. Held at our campus, the workshop brought together participants eager to understand the dynamics of misinformation and learn practical strategies to identify and counter fake news effectively.

Designed to be highly interactive, the workshop combined activities, discussions, and collaborative problem-solving exercises that kept participants engaged and inspired throughout. From exploring how fake news spreads to learning tools for fact-checking and verifying sources, each session was crafted to empower participants with critical media literacy skills.

Role-playing games and team challenges made the learning process not only educational but also a lot of fun. Participants worked together to analyze real-world examples of misinformation, debunk viral myths, and develop strategies to promote responsible media consumption.

The workshop culminated in a creative activity where teams designed campaigns to raise awareness about the dangers of fake news. Feedback from participants highlighted how enlightening and enjoyable the experience was, leaving them with a renewed sense of responsibility as discerning media consumers.

Truth Seekers reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to fostering informed and critical communities in the digital age as it aligns with our pillar, Media and Peacebuilding.
